Do your kids want to be the very best, like no one ever was? Are they talking your ear off about Pokémon, or making up their own rules for the card game and pressganging you into playing with them (and somehow you're mysteriously always losing)? Would you like them to have some other kids their age to play and chat about Pokémon with?
If you're nodding your head yes to some or all of these questions, then Sunday Pokémon League at Scalliwags is perfect for you! We're starting off with one Sunday a month, 1pm - 3pm, and it's a day that's just for our younger Pokémon trainers (and their parents - see notes below) from our Pichu and Eevee Divisions (see the league breakdown in the discussion for the event for full details).
We will have fun Pokémon activities, including colouring sheets, activities, and crafts! These are great for younger kids who prefer to collect cards rather than play the official rules.
We'll also have open Pokémon TCG play for our Eevee Division players (casual games only - this is not a tournament) and supervised trades. Kids are encouraged to bring their cards with them, even if they just want to talk about them and discuss the finer points of which version of Pikachu is the coolest
Another great part of these League Days are learn to play sessions - we will teach you the official Pokémon Trading Card Game rules with a handy teaching deck and playmats that are designed for easy learning. The session itself takes about 20-30 minutes.
Everybody who attends the event will get special official Pokémon goodies because we are an officially-sanctioned Pokémon League location. We're so excited to finally be able to host an active league, and hope that you'll join us!
The cost to participate is $15 per child. Pichu League trainers (age 4-8) must have a grown up stay with them. Eevee League Players (age 9-13) can be dropped off and picked up, or parents are welcome to stay, especially if they would like to play or learn to play the game themselves
If you have any questions at all about the event, please let us know! If you are not already registered for the Play Pokémon program, you can save some time and register in advance at www.pokemon.com - we can also help with this at the event.
